Struggling Milan beaten by Empoli
Monday, October 22, 2007
Struggling AC Milan have been beaten 1-0 at home by Empoli to slip 10 points behind city rivals Inter, who won 1-0 at Reggina on Saturday, in the Serie A title race.
Milan striker Alberto Gilardino cannot find a way past the Empoli defense in their 1-0 San Siro defeat.
Luca Saudati headed home the winner for the visitors in the 55th minute, resulting in Milan being booed off at the end of the match.
The result continues Milan's dreadful record at the San Siro this season, having already drawn three matches before Sunday's defeat -- and brings Carlo Ancelotti's team back down to earth after their superb 5-1 win at Lazio last weekend.
