During their gathering, President Lula and the first lady Marisa Leticia were given autographed jerseys that read "I belong to Jesus," which was the Brazilian national's celebrating slogan for goals in game.
The recently named 2007 best player was accompanied by his wife, Caroline and some other members of his family.
Kaka will spend the new year in Brasilia, where he was born.
Before his meeting with the president, Kaka received a medal from the capital city's governor, Jose Roberto Arruda.
