AC Milan are in severe debt that could force them to sell star man Kaka next summer, according to vice-chairman Adriano Galliani.

"To get the books back in order it would be enough to sell Kaka to Real Madrid for £55M," Galliani told Italian media.

Despite Galliani's comments, Milan are close to signing Kaka's compatriot Ronaldinho from Barcelona.

However, it was reported that shareholders are unwilling to assist the club in terms of transfer funds in the summer.

Milan's poor show this season is believed to be the reason behind their financial crisis.

The Rossoneri are fifth in the Serie A as they were dumped early from the UEFA Champions League, which they won last year.
