I'll be back for Genoa - Kaka
Monday, September 01, 2008
Kaka is hoping to be back for injury in time for the club's second game of the season against Genoa on September September 14.
The Brazilian has been hampered by constant knee troubles over the past year or so, and had an operation in May in a bid to cure the problem.
Unfortunately he has continued to suffer during pre season, and last week was ruled out for another two weeks with inflammation of the left knee, meaning he will miss this weekend's Serie A opener against Bologna.
Kaka has since started working his way back to fitness, and he has targeted a return for the week two trip to Genoa.
"My condition is improving and I am preparing to come back for the second match of the league," said Kaka at Milanello.
"Yesterday I did a test, I didn't feel pain. Today I worked harder to get back to playing more quickly. I am on the right road, I feel good and I will be back shortly.
"I'm sad about not being able to be there for the first match of the league, I hope to be back for the match against Genoa, and I will be happy if we do as well there as we did last year."
Kaka also paid tribute to midfielder Cristian Brocchi, who yesterday left Milan in order to join Lazio.
"I'm disappointed that Cristian Brocchi is leaving, he's found a good place, he will go to an important team. I wish him all the best because he deserves it," the European and World Footballer of the Year concluded.
