Man City lining up for Kaka?
Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Everyone will rush for the January sales, but Manchester City aren't looking for bargains - they're willing to pay top dollar as they prepare to break the bank...

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and Milan star Kaka may be waving arrivederci to Serie A in January, as Manchester City are reportedly ready to stump up a mega €130 million bid to snare both players.

Buffon has been linked with a move to Eastlands following the club's increased buying power after Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan took over.

The Daily Telegraph claims the Premier League outfit have set aside a massive budget for both players as they plan to rumble two of Serie A's biggest clubs for their assets.

A €65 million back-hander for Buffon and the same amount for Kaka seems like the road the Citizens will be heading down.

In a time where everyone will be rushing around for the January bargains, City are prepared to show the world they are no cheapskates as they look to build a dream team ready to challenge for the Premier League and, in the long term, the Champions League.

Any serious hopes of signing the duo may dissapate into thin air though as Milan have always insisted Kaka is not for sale at any price.

The same kind of noises also came rumbling from Turin last week when Buffon's agent, coach Claudio Ranieri and Juventus themselves all laughed at the rumours.
