Preparation is the key for Brazil
Saturday, October 10, 2009

The Madrid maestro doesn't want to get knocked out of the tournament like they did in 2006...

Real Madrid playmaker Kaka is hoping that Brazil's preparations for the World Cup in South Africa next summer are a notch above their last efforts at the 2006 finals in Germany.

Brazil travelled to the last World Cup finals as favourites, but crashed out to a solitary Thierry Henry goal in a quarter final defeat to France, and the mercurial midfielder insists that adequate preparation is the key to overcoming the failure of four years ago.

"Whenever the Selecao is well prepared for a competition, we have achieved good results," the 27-year-old noted, according to AS.

"I hope that preparations for the 2010 World Cup are different from what happened in 2006, so we can have peace of mind to train and be well prepared for the beginning, and keep up our good performances during the World Cup."

Brazil go to South Africa next summer looking to extend their record with a sixth world crown, while Kaka will be looking for his second after winning it in South Korea and Japan in 2002.
